The VoyaX Mossa Series are the most advanced fishing kayaks on the market today in terms of technology. The VoyaX engineers applied their background in arial drone technology to the Kayak Fishing Market, and the result is the first pedal drive kayak with electric assist that has GPS SpotHold Anchoring with infinite, cable-free 360-degree steering.

The XPDL Drive unit is a fully integrated single unit solution that replaces a separate pedal drive, separate bow trolling motor with GPS, separate stern motor for thrust, separate anchoring system and even a fish finder display (transducer sold separately). Everything is contained in a single unit, and you can be on your way within one minute.

You have 3 Drive Modes:

  • Full Manual Mode is 100% Human powered Pedal Drive
  • Electric Assist gives different levels of electric assist while pedaling -just like an e-bike
  • Full Electric Mode requires no pedaling
  • All drive modes enjoy infinite 360-degree steering with no cables or lines

The integrated GPS offers the following features:

  • SpotHold Anchoring that works in wind or current
  • Track Cruise that navigates along a preset path
  • Spot Cruise that navigates directly to a point with the shortest distance
  • Course Lock that maintains a heading regardless of wind or current

There are 2 models in the Mossa Series, the Mossa 128 & the Mossa 97.

The core XPDL Drive, Battery and Retractable Skeg are the same across both models. The seats are similar but not identical.

The differences come down to size, application and additional features.

If you want to cartop your boat, go with the Mossa 97, which has a hull weight of 66 lbs. vs 93 lbs. for the Mossa 128. On the water, the Mossa 97 has more initial stability, but the Mossa 128 has considerably more secondary stability. Both are very comfortable for standing. Compact and maneuverable, the Mossa 97 is an ideal choice for calm, protected waterways.

If you want maximum rigging potential, go with the Mossa 128. It has more track space, deck space, and capacity. The Mossa 128 gives you a few more features over the Mossa 97 such as a bow hatch, larger transducer scupper, molded in carry handles and keel guard. The Mossa 128 is a better choice for coastal or big water use due to the higher secondary stability in choppy conditions. You probably won’t be cartopping the Mossa 128, unless you bring a buddy.
