What (or who!) first introduced you to the outdoors lifestyle? I grew up in an inner city urban environment. I took a trip to Utah to mountain bike when I was already pretty old and couldn't believe such wide open spaces existed! I was smitten. Moab is the place that I have visited most often and still holds a spot in my heart as one of my favourite places in the world.

What's been your most memorable trip/outdoors experience? Backpacking Tiger Leaping Gorge in China. I saw a Michael Pallin travel documentary and it blew me away. I said, “I have to go there!” and after a lot of travel arrangements, I did get there and do it. Unfortunately, this was when I had my old iPhone, so I don't have a picture!

What first brought you to GOPC and what do you love about working there? I came in to get some new hiking boots and loved the feel of the store. When you walk into GOPC there's a certain aura and I believe that's what draws our customers back. My most favourite bit about working here is hearing everyone's travel and adventure plans and getting to be a part of them by outfitting them for those plans!
